Frank Gaudet (Junior Advanced and Junior Elite)
Frank is a level 3 professional badminton Coach. Frank is the coordinator of the Saskatchewan Junior Provincials as well as the Saskatchewan Winter Games for the last three games. He has coached the Zone 2 badminton team at Saskatchewan Winter Games. He was the manager of the Western Canada Summer Games in 1998 and has coached the Western Canada Summer Games twice. Frank was the coach for the Canada Winter Games in 2007 as well as 2011. Frank has been the coordinator for the North American Indigenous Games for the past 3 games as well as the coordinator for the First Nations Winter Games for the past 12 years. Frank was the Chairman of the 2007 Canadian Open held in Saskatchewan as well as the Chairman of the Junior Nationals held in Saskatchewan in 2004 and next year.
Laurie-Anne Ruecker (Junior Advanced and Junior Elite)
Laurie is a level 2 professional badminton Coach. Laurie has attended 2 Canada Winter Games as an athlete and two as a manager. She has attended 2 North American Indigenous Games as well as coaching the badminton team in the 2006 North American Indigenous Games. She has attended numerous Western Canada Summer Games, Badminton Nationals, and provincial tournaments. As a player she travelled to India, Hong Kong, Singapore to train with the Olympic badminton teams. She also went to Australia and New Zealand to play in tournaments where she won the ladies doubles event. Laurie’s goal as a coach is to help the athletes improve and refine their skills.
Rick Beattie (Adult Program)
Rick is an NCCP level 2 badminton coach. He has been involved in coaching junior badminton in Saskatchewan for the past twenty-five years. His coaching experience ranges from a grass roots level to the Sask First provincial team at numerous provincial and national events. As a player he has competed in provincial and national events in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Rick’s goal is to continue to promote badminton at all levels and provide a quality badminton program for beginning junior players.
